“If you don’t ask, the answer is already no”, this was the quote of real estate investor, Greg Pinneo on how he engaged conversations with prospective sellers, to buy properties from them. Simply put the lack of making a decision is a decision in itself.
By definition a decision is “the act of making up your mind about something”. Everyday we make decisions, and over time we form routines, habits, and traditions from a decision made many moons ago. What make us not make decisions is a combination of ignorance, fears and consequences. Decisions require facts, a clear visualization of the outcome and the courage to face the consequences. Our mind is so powerful that our inability to make decisions, creates the same reality of “limbo” in our life.
Seeing then that even the lack of making a decision creates consequences beyond our control; we should take control of our life, get the facts, embrace the consequences and choose. James 1:8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.
