TMI (Too Much Information)

We are in the information age. We are able to verify identities at the stroke of a mouse. Gather directions from digital devices, and reconnects with friends and old flames from the comfort of our home. Even when it comes to edification on various subject, there are both digital and print resources in abundance that we can diving into endlessly. Unfortunately in some case, we are drowning in TMI.

Information is good, but purpose and application is better. Depending on where you are heading in life, some information, although useful in the general sense, is irrelevant for your specific direction. Take “salvation” for example; what is it? What is the goal of salvation and how does general information, traditions, belief structures, and doctrines get you there? Salvation is defined as “the state of being saved or protected from harm, risk, etc.” The dictionary says; “This word is used of the deliverance of the Israelites from the Egyptians (Ex. 14:13).” How does the abundance of information that one drowns in on a daily basis help in obtaining salvation? Simple answer “TMI” is a distraction from it. Salvation is simple, follow the step by step example of the Messiah. He showed the blueprint for deliverance from spiritual harm. Some Information we dive into during this information age put us directly in harm’s way. Get salvation from TMI.
